HORSE

HORSE poker is a game that consists of several poker variants including: Texas Hold’em, Omaha High Low, Razz signals (low card), Seven Card and Stud Eight-or-Better. Limited betting is the rule in HORSE, but in some tournaments, this rule is abandoned when approaching the end of the tournament. HORSE is a dominant game in the World Series of Poker and is often played in games with high stakes, putting the knowledge and talent of the players in different poker variations to the test. HORSE is probably the most challenging game for poker experts, since it is necessary to have the knowledge and be aware of the strategies of multiple games.

For players who are not used to playing combined games it is required to first study the rules and methods of the game before placing their first bet. It is true that the game is only played limit, but it is not surprising when there are huge pots and bets as the game itself accelerates very quickly. The limits in HORSE usually start at $2/$4, after which the sky is the limit. During all rounds of the game it is played according to the Limit betting structure.

How does HORSE work?

The type of game changes with every movement of the dealer button and there are up to ten hands of each poker being player before the next is continued. Texas Hold’em

By far the most popular form of poker and every year again the highlight of the World Series of Poker. The aim of Texas Hold’em poker is make the best combination of five cards, which can be made using two personal cards and five community cards.

Omaha High Low

In this variant, four cards are dealt to each player. Players must make the best hand by using at least two personal cards and three of the five community cards. At the showdown, the pot is divided between the highest and lowest hand. The lowest hand contains cards between eight and Ace.

Razz Poker

Razz Poker is a strange form of poker where the lowest hand wins the pot. This is equivalent to the lower part of Omaha, but there are no limits based on the low hand. The player with the lowest high card or a pair, usually starts the round.

Seven Card Stud

This is a very well known form of poker in which players receive cards in progression, some dealt face up and some dealt face down. The highest poker hand of five cards wins the pot.

Eight-or-better

This is in fact Seven Card Stud Eight (Hi-Lo). This variant has the same way of playing as Omaha Eight, where the pot is split for the lowest hand among the eight.
